How to Shake the Monday Blues

It’s Monday again.  Every week I anticipate Monday and the stresses that come with it.  Unless you are living a perfect life, you probably loathe Mondays like the rest of us.  I have complied a list of the tips and tricks I use to shake the Monday blues, and I hope you all can use them to make Monday feel less agonizing.

  1. Stop at Your Favorite Coffee Shop

I am a firm believer that coffee makes you feel better.  Every Monday I make a pit stop on my way to class at my favorite coffee shop and order my favorite drink.  The taste instantly makes my day better, and the caffeine is much needed.

  1. Wear an Outfit That You Feel Beautiful In

Look good, feel good; a motto I live by.  You cannot have a bad day wearing an outfit that makes you feel like the hottest kid on the block.  It’s science (or at least Cassie science).

  1. Exercise

“But exercise is the worst!”  Yeah, yeah I agree, but the benefits of exercise are amazing.  It helps your whole body feel better, and don’t forget… Look good, feel good 🙂

  1. Breakfast

It’s the most important meal of the day folks!  It might be a large task to get breakfast in, but I promise you won’t regret it.  If you’re anything like me, you get really hangry (for those of you that are unaware of what hanger is, it’s when you are so hungry that you get angry).  Skipping breakfast puts my hanger levels through the roof and makes Monday a million times worse.  Grab an apple and toast or make some exquisite; just make sure you eat something!

  1. Take Your Favorite Magazine With You

An article from Vogue has the ability to brighten my mood almost instantly.  On your way out the door, grab that magazine you’ve been meaning to read.  Having it with you while you wait for the bus or stand in line for lunch can help you avoid the annoyance that comes along with waiting and replace it with the joy that comes along with reading something that interests you. (Also, look for more updates on RIMM’s first issue coming this April!)

Although these five tips seem pretty easy and self-explanatory, they are crucial to my Monday survival.  In fact, I am writing this as I drink my favorite coffee drink and wear my favorite top and shoes.  You bet I had a nice plate of hash browns this morning after a run, and lastly, I have an issue of Vogue lying next to my laptop.  I’m shaking those Monday blues, and it feels amazing!
